Kinawley GFC

Promoting Gaelic Games

Kinawley G.F.C.: There has been organised football clubs in the area since 1904, and the club in its present form resulted in the amalgamation of Kinawley Brian Boru's and St. Mary's Killesher in the 1960s. The grounds are situated about a mile outside the village, and contain  2 full-size pitches and changing rooms, with plans in motion to incorporate a 1km walking track and play area into the facility.

Men's and Ladies football is catered for from pre-school age up to senior level, with a lot of effort and time devoted to coaching at underage level. Participation in Scor has been re-vitalised in the last few years, and an Irish Language class takes place weekly in the clubrooms. The club has forged good links with the other organisations in the local community, particularly with the 2 local primary schools, and continues to play a central role in the life of the parish. The club has had many successes over the years.
