Corlough Group Water Scheme: CGWS sent out letters to all members last week explaining what each member should do when they receive information from Irish Water. It explains in bold what you should do to prevent you from receiving bills from Irish Water. It is very important to complete details required and return it as soon as possible.

Public Meeting for Tidy Towns Group: Public meeting will take place in Trivia House on Tues 23 Sept at 9pm to set up a Tidy Towns group in Swanlinbar. Some funding is available from Cavan County Council. Anyone with an interest in improving the appearance of the town or would like to help please attend.

Swanlinbar 3G Pitch: Bookings are now being taking for September. Pitch available Monday to Friday from 6pm to 10pm. Please call 087 3960079 from 9am to 5pm to book. €25 per hour for block bookings. Soccer League will run from October to February. Panel of 7 Players. Limit of 8 teams per league. €245 for 14 weeks. Anyone with team to enter call booking number.

Thank you. On the Behalf of all staff of JP Corry Derrylin we thank everyone who supported and attended our Charity Tractor Run Event held on the 7th September. Special thanks to Aughakillymaude Community Association for the use of their centre and for their help on the day, McDade’s Centra and McBride’s Spar Derrylin for sponsoring our event and to all who donated prizes for our raffle. We raised a total of £1775.90 for MacMillian Cancer Support and Irish Cancer Society.

We welcome back all our existing members & encourage anyone interested in joining to come along and register. Ladies try a new craft or improve your skills at St Aidan's crochet, patchwork and knitting classes on Thursdays from 7pm -9pm starting the 2nd Oct. Swanlinbar CCE are holding a Hog Roast Evening & Trad Music Seisiun @ Trivia House from 7pm on Saturday 27th September.This is a fundraiser towards the Cavan Co.Fleadh 2015 that Swanlinbar CCE is hosting. What a great way to enjoy the lovely Autumn weather as well as enjoying a great evening of music, song and dance. This is a great achievement for our village to host the County Fleadh so all suport to this event would be greatly appreciated!!!!

NEW GUIDELINES REGARDING BAPTISM: From September 2014 on, baptisms will take place at scheduled times in the parish. They will take place on Sundays at 1.30pm sharp.St. Mary’s Church, Swanlinbar: 2nd Sunday of the month.St. Naile’s Church, Kinawley: 3rd Sunday of the month.St. Patrick’s Church, Killesher: 4th Sunday of the month.All baptisms must be booked a month in advance with the parish secretaries. For a Swanlinbar baptism, please contact Bernie each Tuesday on 0499521221 (10am-1pm) For a Kinawley/Killesher baptism, please contact Helen each Wednesday on 02866348250 (2.30-5.30pm) As there may be one or more children for baptism, in fairness to the officiating priest and also other parents, please make sure that everyone is there at 1.20pm, so as to be able to start sharp on time at 1.30pm. The Baptismal course which takes place on the Wednesday after the first Sunday is compulsory for all. The dates of the courses are published in the weekly newsletter and also on the parish website. Even if parents have done the course for their first child, the parents or someone from the family is expected to do it for subsequent children – e.g. godparernts or other family members. This is the policy worked out in conjunction with neighbouring priests. Please let others know. Next dates from September on for baptisms in the parish:Swanlinbar: 14th September 2014 – 1.30pm sharp, Kinawley: 21st September 2014 – 1.30pm sharp, Killesher: 28th September 2014 – 1.30pm sharp
