First Class Relic of Saint Faustina: It is with great joy that I inform you that we have procured a first class relic of Saint Faustina. Earlier this year I asked Bishop Leo to write a letter endorsing our desire to have it. On 25th September, Father Pat Mc Hugh, Gretta Goodwin and Mary Mc Ilroy were presented with the relic. They will bring it back with them from Poland. It will be in the glass cabinet beneath the image of the Divine Mercy in Saint Naile’s Church. Each Monday night at the Divine Mercy Devotions, there will be a blessing with the relic. A word of thanks to Father Pat, Gretta and Mary for helping to make it possible.

The ordination will take place during the Mass in the cathedral in Cavan, which will begin at 3pm. Everyone is invited to this historic occasion – the first ceremony of its kind ever in the diocese. There will be refreshments afterwards for everyone in the Farnham Hotel Cavan. These men have completed a four year programme in the Emmaus retreat centre in Swords in Dublin, Carrickmacross in Monaghan and Dromantine in Newry.
