Kinawley GAA Notes: Club Lotto Sunday 2nd June 2019 Numbers drawn were Lucky Dip Winners 2, 4, 6, 16 £20 – Maggie Greene £10 – Katie Owens, Aughaderraloman £10 – Michael Gilleece, Main St, Derrylin £10 – Orlaith Doherty, Kinawley Next week's jackpot will be £5400. Please remember 10.30pm deadline. We ask that all members and local parishioners support this weekly fundraiser as it is the financial lifeline of the club. A massive well done to both the U16 girls and U15 boys in winning their respective division 1 finals last weekend. You all did the club very proud, well done. Well done to the senior ladies winning their 9 a side game against St Patrick's Donagh on Sunday. The senior men home to Erne Gaels Saturday evening at 6.30pm.  Good luck to all those playing games. Please come out and support when you can.  U17 boys training this Sunday at 11am. Please spread the word. The Walking Track will soon be officially opened to members. The lights go on at dusk and off again at 10pm. More details to follow regarding the opening.  We ask all members who use the gym to ensure they clean up after themselves and look after this excellent club resource.  We remind people that the gym is only open to members and no children are allowed.

Our next football match is on Saturday 15th June away to Lavey at 7.30pm and the following Friday 21st June we are home to Bailieboro at 8pm.   The club would like to wish the best of luck to Gearóid and the Cavan Senior Team on Sunday next when they play Armagh in Clones in the replay of the semi-final of the Ulster Senior Championship

4. Kinawley Community Centre Seniors Daffodil Club –  Mondays @ 10.30am in the community centre with fun activities and refreshments each week, start your week off in good company. 5. Scoil Mhuire New EntrantsThere will be an opportunity for all new infants to come along and visit our school on Tuesday, 18th June between 10am and 11am.  Enrolment packs are available for collection for New Entrants.

6. Brady’s Pharmacy, Florencecourt in conjunction with Cleenish CA & KCDA are running a health and wellbeing programme for people living in a rural setting.  This will be free for 15 participants aged 50 and over who are interested in an enjoyable, sociable, and informative 6 sessions over the summer.  Contact Ciaran on 02866348703

7. DIOCESAN CELEBRATION FOR BISHOP LEO O'REILLY in the Cathedral of SS. Patrick & Felim, Cavan, on the Feast of Pentecost, Sunday 9 June 2019, at 3:00p.m. to mark the Golden Jubilee of his Ordination to the Priesthood and his recent retirement as Bishop of Kilmore.  There will be an informal reception afterwards in St. Patrick's College.  All are welcome to attend.

8. A Medjugorje Afternoon of Prayer through the intercession of our Lady will take place in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cavan on Sunday June 16th at 3pm with rosary, Holy Mass and Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction.  Celebrant Fr John Hogan.  Enquiries:  087 2549960.

Apostolic Society St Mary’s Swanlinbar Annual cake sale will take place on Saturday 30th June after Mass. All donations of homemade, apple/rhubarb tarts, cakes, soda bread, wheaten cakes, buns etc much appreciated. 


10. SCOIL MHUIRE RETIREMENT: Mrs Shona Cross will be retiring at the end of June after 17 years of service in Scoil Mhuire as a (Special Education Teacher).  We thank Shona for her dedication over the years and wish her good health to enjoy a long and happy retirement.

11. Trivia House are delighted to have opened a community garden and coffee shop through funding from Town and Village Renewal.  Now that we have learnt how to crow natural herbs and crops it’ time to put them to good use.  Demonstration on how simple twists can give your existing baking skills a whole new approach.  This workshop in making bread with herbs will be facilitated by Vicky Poffe http://www.wolfgardens.com  Thursday 20 June at 7.00 pm at Trivia House. Youth Pilgrimage to Lourdes: Four young people from the Parish of Kinawley-Killesher are travelling to assist the pilgrims who need help during this year’s pilgrimage in July.  The young people are: Niamh McManus, Aine Drumm, Laura McDermott and Megan Baxter.  There will be a special basket collection after Holy Communion in the Parish next weekend 15/16th June to help send these young people as our representatives.  Please be as generous as you can.  I’m sure they will tell us all about their experience when they get back.  Intention box will be placed in the sanctuary of each chapel and will be taken to Lourdes by the young people and placed at the grotto during Mass.
