28th June 2020

Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

In accordance with the current guidelines in the framework document of the Irish Bishops Conference, we the parish pastoral council suggest a phased return to regular liturgical celebration of the Holy Mass in this parish as follows:

We will begin tentatively with the 2 largest Chapels, Kinawley and Swanlinbar and this refers only to weekday Masses at the moment. Because of cross border disparity considerations we will hold back for a while with Sunday Masses but we are working towards and hope to resume public masses on the Sundays very soon. This will enable us to evaluate the changing landscape and improvise as things unfold. At the moment the numbers permissible are as follows:

-          St Naile’s Church, Kinawley – 80 people (based on 1 metre distancing)

-          St Mary’s Church, Swanlinbar – 80 people (based on 2 metre distancing)

-          St Patrick’s Church, Killesher – approx. 25 people (based on 1 metre distancing)

-          St Lasir’s Church, Wheathill – approx. 15 people (based on 1 metre distancing)

These guidelines could change at any time, so we must be vigilant and comply with the agreed resumption date of the Irish Bishops Conference which is Monday 29th June 2020. Please use the designated seating points only. Families/households may sit together as one “pod”. Best practice in hygiene will be adhered to always and the Masses can be followed on the webcam as previously the case.
