As a mark of respect our Reserve Men & U17 Boys games on Saturday have been postponed. U17 game v Irvinestown has been re-fixed for next Saturday 26th September at 11am away. No details yet for the Reserve mens re-fixture v Belnaleck.

Hard luck to our Senior Men who lost out to Derrygonnelly in the Senior Championship Semi Final last Friday night.

U13 Boys are away to St.Pat's, Donagh, Sunday 20th September at 12pm.

Congratulations to our Senior Ladies who retained their Senior Championship title last Sunday beating Derrygonnelly 1-11 to 0-10.  Our ladies will now face Cavan winners Drumlane in the Ulster Club Quarter Final, Sunday 27th September at 2pm in Kinawley.

U16 girls begin their Division 1 League campaign at home to Belcoo, Sunday 20th September at 11am.

2. Drive-in-Bingo continues in Charlie’s Yard every Monday at 8.30pm. Total prize fund which can be won on the night is €8,300. Snowball is on game 5 on 45 calls or less for €5,800. On game 10 there is the usual €1,000 to be won. Monday Night’s winner was Jean Hussey, Kinawley.

Swanlinbar played Ballyhaise on Sunday last in Corlough in the Reserve Division 3 Championship and final score Swanlinbar 5-12 Ballyhaise 3-11. Next Saturday we have Munterconnaught in Corlough at 6pm round 3 of Reserve Division 3 Championship.

Our Scenic River Walkway is under construction and at the moment we are waiting on ESB to move a pole and when that happens it will only take a couple of weeks to finish .

3. Kinawley Community Centre Is back OPEN for hire. We are delighted to be able to open our doors again, we have had a Deep Clean from AAA Pristine cleaning and we have our santiser stations in place. 4. St Vincent de Paul: The Society members would like to express their sincere thanks to all those who donated money so generously during the pandemic. Assistance is always available for any needy families in the locality. Helpline Number: 077 32222137. Fully confidential. The monthly Church collections will recommence on the weekend of October 3rd/4th.

5. The Episcopal Ordination of the Very Reverend Martin Hayes as Bishop of Kilmore takes place this Sunday (20 September 2020) in the Cathedral of SS. Patrick & Felim, Cavan at 3:00p.m. The principal consecrator will be Archbishop Eamonn Martin of Armagh and Primate of All-Ireland. He will be assisted by the Papal Nuncio to Ireland, Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo, and Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly SMA of Cashel and Emly as co-consecrators. Archbishop Martin will be the homilist. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the numbers attending the ceremony will be greatly reduced and will be by invitation only with only his immediate family and a few friends attending. The ceremony itself will be live-streamed on the internet and may be viewed at www.churchservices.tv/cavancathedral There will also be a digital broadcast of the ceremony on Northern Sound which may be accessed from its website, www.northernsound.ie. Additional information has been published on the diocesan website, www.kilmorediocese.ie, regarding the ceremony itself, the new bishop’s coat of arms and motto, and details of his crozier, ring and mitre – the symbols of his role as bishop as well as a copy of the Mass booklet which can be downloaded. Photographs and a report on the ceremony will also be available on the diocesan website from Sunday night/Monday morning. You are cordially invited to watch the ceremony either on the live-stream provided or to listen to the digital broadcast. Let us pray for Fr. Hayes in a special way this weekend as he prepares to be ordained as our new bishop and to take up his new ministry as shepherd of God’s flock in the Diocese of Kilmore.



God, eternal shepherd, you tend your Church in many ways and rule us with love. You have chosen your servant, Fr. Martin Hayes, to be shepherd of your flock in the Diocese of Kilmore. Give him a spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love. By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he build your Church as a sign of salvation for the world.

We ask this through Christ our Lord, AMEN
