Cairde Brian Ború - Next draw will take place Sunday 27th September. We are coming up to the end of our first year of Cairde, those who paid by cash for the year, a committee member will be in contact soon about renewing. Our Senior Ladies Ulster Quarter Final V Drumlane has been postponed. Due to recent upsurge in Covid cases across the province, Ulster Ladies Executive feels it is in the best interest of its members to postpone the Ulster Ladies Club Championship. Their decision will be reviewed on 12th October if there is a significant decrease in cases and lighter restrictions in place.

U16 girls are at home to Belcoo in the first round of the Division 1 League, Monday 28th September at 7pm.

 

2. Swanlinbar GAA Notes: 21st September 2020: Blotto - Numbers Drawn 2.10.24.28. Drive-in-Bingo continues in Charlie’s Yard every Monday at 8.30pm. Total prize fund which can be won on the night is €8,400. Snowball is on game 5 on 45 calls or less for €5,900. On game 10 there is the usual €1,000 to be won. Monday Night’s winner was Caroline Mc Aveety, Corlough.

Swanlinbar played Munterconnacht on Saturday last in Corlough in the Reserve Division 3 Championship and final score Swanlinbar 1-11 Munterconnacht 1-11. We still have to play our final game in the Reserve Championship away to Cootehill which will not take place for 2 weeks. The club would like to wish our neighbours Shannon Gaels and Templeport the best of luck in the semi-final of the Junior Championship on Sunday.

Our Scenic River Walkway is under construction and at the moment we are waiting on ESB to move a pole and when that happens it will only take a couple of weeks to finish.

 

3. Kinawley Community Centre Is back OPEN for hire. We are delighted to be able to open our doors again, we have had a Deep Clean from AAA Pristine cleaning and we have our santiser stations in place. 4. St Vincent de Paul: The Society members would like to express their sincere thanks to all those who donated money so generously during the pandemic. Assistance is always available for any needy families in the locality. Helpline Number: 077 32222137. Fully confidential. The monthly Church collections will recommence on the weekend of October 3rd/4th.

 

5. Apostolic Society: Due to the Covid-19 Virus restrictions we are unable to have our annual apostolic display. A donation box will be in the Church on Sunday 27th September or please put your donation through Fr McMorrow’s letterbox marked “Apostolic Society”. Donations Greatly needed, thanks.

 

6. THEOLOGY STUDY GROUP - Fr. Eamonn Bredin will conduct a six-week course on "The Aims of Vatican II, The Liturgy, and the Role of the Laity" in the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cavan, on Thursday evenings, beginning Thursday 1 October 2020, from 7:30p.m. to 9:30p.m. (subject to social distancing protocols). Suggested donation per night: €5. All welcome.
