MESSAGE FROM BISHOP MARTIN HAYES

Arising from the latest Government decision of Oct 5th 2020 to place all counties in the Republic on Level 3 we are obliged to move all Masses and liturgies online until October 27th 2020 with the exception of Funerals, Weddings and Baptisms for which there is a limit of 25. It means that in the interest of public health we will not gather for weekday or Sunday Masses for the next three weeks, until October 27th 2020, as efforts continue to stem the escalation of the coronavirus.  However, churches can remain open for private prayer. I am conscious, at this time of writing that public Masses can go ahead in the Northern Ireland jurisdiction. While it is regrettable that we have to suspend our gatherings for the Eucharist once again, with its consequent impact upon the life of our parish faith communities, let us resolve to support the efforts to ensure the safety of those most vulnerable to COVID-19. This is a time of testing and we must remain strong in trusting the Good Lord, who is with us.

“I mean that the point of all our toiling and battling is that we have put our trust in the living God…” (1 Tim 4:10) Bishop Martin Hayes

We must follow these guidelines but obviously these restrictions do not apply to the northern part of the parish, pending any further directions from this jurisdiction. Fr Maurice McMorrow
