Northern Ireland Coronavirus Regulations: New restrictions will come into force on Friday 27 November 2020 for two weeks. Places of worship must close, except for funerals and weddings (limited to 25 people), or to broadcast an act of worship. As Kinawley Chapel has the Webcam, Masses will be broadcast from here at times outlined on the Newsletters for these weeks. We hope you all continue to keep well in these times. We will slot in any Masses that are currently booked and can be viewed by the family via the Webcam (unless deferred by the family).

UPDATE ON ST MARY’S CHAPEL, SWANLINBAR ROOF PROJECT: The committee met twice last week and as St Mary’s is a protected structure our next step is to meet with the conservation officials of Cavan County Council in compliance with regulations for a listed building.

2. Swanlinbar GAA Notes: In line with government restrictions, our Monday night Drive-In-Bingo and Blotto draw have been postponed until further notice. We hope to be back soon when restrictions are lifted.

Our Blotto will recommence with a jackpot of €11,700 and our Bingo Snowball on Game 5 will recommence at €6,200.

Our Scenic River Walkway is under construction and at the moment we are waiting on ESB to move a pole and when that happens it will only take a couple of weeks to finish.

 

3. St Vincent de Paul: Contact No: 077 32222137. The Society wishes to thank everyone for their generosity during the past year. It is greatly appreciated. December is the National designated month for donating to this important Society. Because of current restrictions people may  donate to any member of the Society and they will be receipted. Donations may also be left in Parochial House letterbox.

5. The Memory Map of Cuilcagh to Cleenish has been launched. With over ninety locations to explore, the online interactive map brings to life the area’s rich natural, cultural, historical, built and archaeological heritage. With the click of a button or scroll on the screen you can zoom in to markers on the landscape to open pop-up boxes containing information, photographs, old and new films, 3D models, voice recordings and music by local performers. With nearly seventy specially produced short films and sound recordings we hope that the memory map will provide many hours of listening and viewing pleasure for you over the winter months. 6. MINI ADVENT RETREAT ON ZOOM: For three sessions, during Advent, you are invited to take part in a mini-retreat that will explore the themes of Faith, Hope and Love. The retreat will be led by Fr Billy Swan, St Aidan’s Cathedral, Enniscorthy and will take place from Tuesday 1st to Thursday 3rd December beginning at 8pm.
